To aid the American Legion in carrying out its program of peacetime service to America.
Service
The auxiliary members serve with members of the American Legion in a spirit of devotion to the well-being of the nation. Although it often works independently on projects of its own, the auxiliary has no purposes that are apart from the aims of the American Legion. Programs emphasize veterans' affairs and rehabilitation, children and youth including Girls' State, community services, and national security. Meetings are 7:30 pm at the American Legion Post 191 in Mount Airy on the second Monday of each month, except July.
Eligibility
Membership is limited to mothers, wives, daughters, sisters, grandmothers, and granddaughters of American Legion members or United States armed forces veterans.
