To carry out peacetime service to America, including many programs on veterans' affairs and rehabilitation, children and youth, community service, and national security.
Service
Supports the activities of the American Legion. Specific programs include Boys' State, national oratorical contest, American Legion baseball, scholarships, sponsorship of a Boy Scout troop and a Cub Scout pack, traditional Memorial Day Observance since 1947, and a children's safety program. Fund-raising activities to promote these programs include bingo, dances, and dinners throughout the year. A meeting room and social hall may be rented by contacting Chris Niemeyer, Manager at the post or emailing post191mgr@verizon.net. Auxiliary members will provide food, if desired. Meetings are 7:30 pm the second Wednesday of each month, except July.
Eligibility
Open to all veterans who served honorably in the armed services in the United States or abroad during wartime as mandated by Congress.
