To help educate the public about nature and environmental issues through programming, exhibits, and staff and volunteer naturalists.
Service
Provides a multitude of programs each year for all ages. Popular ongoing programs include Nature Camp, K-6; Mother Nature programs, 3-10 years old with a parent; Holiday Craft Workshops; field trips; Fall Festival, kayak programs, family campover. Environmental programs for school and community groups. Junior volunteer programs 12-18 years old. There are dozens of exhibits, including live reptiles, injured hawks and owls. School programs are offered year-round. Naturalists are available to answer questions, lead hikes, and present programs. Birthday parties are available; call for additional information. Calendars of events are available online, at the center, and mailed to members. Volunteer training programs available. The nature center offers reciprocal benefits with Bear Branch Nature Center.
Fees
Park vehicle fees apply March 1 through November 30.
