Purpose
DAR is a non-profit, non-political volunteer women's service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America's future through better education for children.
Service
In communities across the country and around the world DAR chapters participate in restoring and maintaining historical sites, preserving genealogical records, artifacts and historical documents, locating, restoring and marking Revolutionary War patriot gravesites and headstones, and supporting schools through donations and volunteer efforts. The William Winchester Chapter meets in Westminster on the first Saturday of the month.
Eligibility
Any woman 18 years or older who can prove lineal, bloodline descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence is eligible to join the DAR.
Fees
Each chapter charges annual dues and the national society has annual dues.

Must be 18 years and older.

Local chapter serves Carroll County.
