Purpose
Natural Resources Police (NRP) is Maryland's oldest state law enforcement agency, responsible for protecting public lands and waterways.
Service
Natural Resources Police enforces fish and game and conservation laws. It aids boaters in distress, performs searches for and rescues of lost hunters and hikers and is Maryland's lead police force for maritime homeland security. Its officers have statewide jurisdiction and full police powers.
