Hampstead Lions Club -

Service: The Lions motto is "We Serve." Provides services of benefit to the community. Offers the loan of hospital equipment to the community such as wheelchairs, walkers, and crutches. Handles individual requests for help. Interested in all age groups, civic concerns, and recreational activities. Operates the Hampstead Community Park and Playground which has been expanded to nine baseball fields, a football/soccer/all-purpose field, and additional playground equipment. Also sponsors the Hampstead Lions Club baseball and softball leagues, and the Hampstead Ravens Football and Cheerleading Club. Gives four $1,500 scholarships, in cooperation with the Hampstead Lioness Club, to worthy and needy North Carroll area students; one of the scholarships goes to a Carroll Career and Technology student. Directly supports the Maryland Eye Bank, LCI Sight First II program, Wilmer Eye Clinic, preschool eye screening for the North Carroll area, White Cane Day, low vision research at Johns Hopkins Hospital, and Leader Dogs for the Blind. Publishes the Hampstead Lions Club Bulletin monthly. Meetings are 6:59 pm the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at Greenmount Station, 1631 N. Main St.
