Service
Since 1946, the Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind, a not-for-profit organization, has provided guide and service dogs, free of charge, to qualified people who seek the increased freedom, mobility, and companionship these dogs bring. A person who is blind or has low vision can achieve independence when they are teamed with a guide dog.

A person must be legally blind.
