Purpose
To enhance the lives of children with SMA, to increase the awareness of the disease, to act as a support for families of SMA children, and to provide funds for research.
Service
This group facilitates the needs of families of SMA children through an increase in the quality and quantity of information available. A regional support network of concerned individuals has been developed, both inside and outside the medical community. Special attention has been given to creating therapeutic and recreational programs to meet the needs of the children and providing equipment to alleviate the daily challenges facing these children. A quarterly newsletter is available for members. Meetings are quarterly; call for time and location.
