To help young adults learn the consequences of substance abuse in an effort to interrupt the destructive cycle of alcohol and chemical dependencies.
Service
This program consists of four 3-hour sessions for four consecutive Thursday evenings, and is under the professional direction of the Carroll County Sheriff's Department, the Westminster Police Department, and trained community volunteers. Additional sponsors include the Westminster Fire Department, Carroll Hospital Center, and local funeral homes. Students see the consequences of drug and alcohol choices, and hear how similar choices have impacted guest speakers who have witnessed alcohol and drug abuse. Site tours, educational presentations, videos, and homework assignments are also included. Meetings are from 6 to 9 pm.
