Purpose
Mission Statement Carroll Community College Library provides instruction, tools, and resources to promote academic success and to strengthen the communities we serve. Mission goals 1. Prepare students to think critically and provide tools and knowledge that promote the ethical consumption and use of information. 2. Become a campus information hub, offer support and guidance to instructors, and promote academic excellence. 3. Generate a welcoming environment that fosters a sense of belonging, inclusivity, empathy, and respect toward diverse ways of thinking. 4. Maximize visibility and awareness of library services, resources, and programs. 5. Offer services and programs that are vital to the campus experience and promote the Colleges role as an integral part of Carroll County at large.
Service
Services to students and faculty include reference and information services, library instruction, internet access, printing, individual research paper assistance, citation checks, group study rooms, individual study carrels, and computer workstations. The collection currently includes nearly 30,000 print materials and 300,000 electronic books and streaming media. The library is a member of the Carroll Library Partnership and provides reciprocal borrowing privileges to member library patrons. The college library partners with Carroll County Public Library, McDaniel College's Hoover Library, and other community libraries in Maryland in order to expand its resources and services to the students and faculty of the college and the citizens of Carroll County.
