Since our charter in 1919, our American Legion Post has been welcoming VETERANS from all branches of our Armed Forces. Today, we continue to welcome all military personnel serving our country. Joining our Post enables you to continue serving your God, Country and Community. Our mission is to implement the goals, aspirations, dreams, peace and blessings for our country, friends and families.
Service
Supports the activities of the American Legion. Meetings are 7 pm the first Tuesday of each month with dinner served for members at 6 pm. A Service Officer is available to assist veterans with claims for the Veterans Administration and those in need. Sponsors and coordinates the annual Memorial Day Parade in Westminster and the ceremony that follows at the Westminster Cemetery. Sponsors a Veterans Day program on November 11, and a public speaking contest for high school students each January. Sponsors high school students for attendance at BoysGirls State Leadership Program. Awards scholarships each year to seniors from Westminster and Winters Mill high schools. Provides donations throughout the year to numerous local and state charities, which have totaled over 30,000.00.
