- Purpose
- To eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.
- Service
- Services include a 24/7 Helpline (800-272-3900) to provide emotional, informational and referral support, Support Groups for family caregivers, friends and the person with dementia, Care Consultations that provide in-depth information and guidance in problem solving, care planning, and assistance with accessing services, an early stage program for individuals and their families in the beginning stages of the disease, education for professionals, families affected by dementia, and the community through programs, conferences, trainings, and telephone seminars. Additionally, we offer a lending library, newsletter, email updates and extensive information on our website. Our free service TrialMatch, makes it easy for people with Alzheimer's disease and dementia as well as healthy individuals to learn about and find clinical trials in which they may want participate. Our MedicAlert and Safe Return ID program assists in the identification and safe, timely return of individuals at risk of wandering. Volunteer opportunities include delivery of educational programs, staffing of special events, advocating for changes in public policy, and administrative support.
