- Purpose
- To protect and preserve the quality of life; to monitor quarrying in the area; to maintain and protect the environment, and to guard, perpetuate, and preserve the health and well-being of the citizens of New Windsor and Carroll County.
- Service
- The major ongoing activity is the Rural Planning Project, one element of which is developing an Environmental Resource Inventory. Current issues include expansion of the Lehigh plant in Union Bridge and its New Windsor quarry. An additional issue involves the transfer of stone from the New Windsor quarry to the Union Bridge plant. This method would involve truck,train or a cross-country conveyer system. Meetings are open to the public. Please call the president for meeting dates and times.
