Purpose
To provide a teaching studio offering classes and workshops to youth, teens and adults year-round, and produce sculpture and pottery for exhibition and sale.
Service
Terry Whye enjoys a career in ceramic sculpture and pottery in her Finksburg studio, Whye Clay Works, producing work in a variety of techniques including high-fired stoneware and porcelain, colorful majolica pottery, raku and wood fired sculpture and pottery. Her ceramics have been highlighted in Ceramic Art and Perception, American Crafts, Ceramics Monthly and Carroll Magazine. WCW is also a teaching studio with classes, camps and workshops for youth, teens and adults. WCW is an ideal setting for home schooled youth and programs for Girl Scouts are available. Ms. Whye, a certified Teaching Artist, provides dynamic workshops and residences for public and private schools and organizations. Local examples can be found at Hampstead Elementary and Cranberry Station Elementary Schools. They have permanent installations of ceramic murals that are a result of her residencies. Local references are gladly provided. Visits for purchases, commissions, and to register for classes or workshops are by appointment.
