Purpose
Westminster Fire Engine and Hose Company No. 1 is dedicated to delivering exceptional emergency services to the communities we are entrusted to protect. Our mission is to safeguard lives and property through prevention, preparation, and protectionmade possible by the combined efforts of our members, local government partners, and engaged citizens. As we proudly enter our 203rd year of service, we reflect with gratitude on the continued support from our community.
Service
Volunteer Fire Department We are community partners. Our members deliver fire-prevention education to schools and community groups, participate in events like National Night Out, Camp Cops, and the 4-H Fair, and provide standby services at county and city festivals. Our vibrant Junior Firefighter Program, led by dedicated adult leaders, equips youth with the skills, values, and sense of service needed to become the next generation of firefighters. With the implementation of the Carroll County Department of Fire EMS DFEMS, weve seen changes in our operations. While DFEMS provides some staffing, our department remains financially responsible for vital needs, including apparatus purchases, building upkeep and maintenance, supplies and equipment, vehicle loan payments, and capital improvements on our campus. As we honor our rich tradition and embrace the future, Westminster Fire Engine and Hose Company No. 1 remains steadfast in our promise to protect, to serve, and to lead. Together with our community partners, we will continue setting the standard for emergency response, public safety education, and volunteer excellencetoday, tomorrow, and for generations to come.
