Thousands of families in Maryland, Virginia and Washington D.C. are unable to get decent jobs and support themselves because they lack adequate transportation. Vehicles for Change (VFC), a 501(c)3 organization, removes that obstacle by accepting and repairing donated cars and awarding them to families at very affordable prices, enabling low-income families to become self-sufficient.
Service
A nonprofit organization, VFC receives 99 percent of its car donations from the public. We refurbish cars that meet our quality standards and award them for as little as $750 to eligible families, who are referred to us by social service agencies.
Since 1999, VFC has awarded cars to more than 4,000 low-income families, changing the lives of more than 14,000 people.
