Purpose
To formulate, implement, oversee, and promote recycling and sanitation goals and efforts throughout Mount Airy.
Service
Separate schedules for trash pickup and recyclables pickup. TRASH PICKUP: Carroll residents — trash must be out by 6:00 am Tuesday; Frederick residents — trash must be out by 6:00 am Friday. RECYCLABLES PICKUP: Items must be out by 6:00 am -- Carroll residents, pick up every Wednesday; Frederick residents, pick up every other Wednesday. The Commission meets at 7:00 pm every other month on the third Wednesday at the Mount Airy Town Hall, 110 S. Main Street. All meetings are open to the public. Public attendance is encouraged to increase community participation and to voice public concerns.
