To provide technical assistance, legislative advice, and fellowship to the municipal officials of its membership.
Service
In addition to sponsoring statewide and/or countywide municipal legislation, the chapter, through its state affiliation, studies all bills affecting municipalities; prepares, publishes, and distributes bulletins to members summarizing such bills, and presents the municipal viewpoint to the legislature and the commission, council members, and legislative action committee members. The chapter also acts as a liaison between municipal governments, and county, state, and federal governments. Provides college scholarships to qualified high school seniors pursuing a degree in governmental or related fields. The statewide group also sponsors a Hall of Fame which honors public officials for contributing to their municipalities. Meetings are the first Thursday of March, June, September, and December, or at the call of the president.
