Also sponsors a number of fund-raising events during the year, including a carnival, a shrimp feed in March, a toy show the second weekend in March, a bike show in May, and a car show on the fourth Saturday in August. The Taneytown Volunteer Fire Company has meeting rooms/social halls that may be rented for public use. The ladies auxiliary will provide food, if desired. Although the county government provides the companies with some monies each year, members have an annual solicitation drive to cover expenses such as vehicles, equipment, and training. Fire company meetings are the second Monday of each month (except in June, when it is on the first Monday) at the fire station. A paid paramedic and an emergency medical technician (EMT) are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to cover advanced life support medical calls.
