| Purpose | Maryland's Small Business Development Center in Carroll County is part of a statewide and national network, founded in 1979, that supports over one million small businesses each year. SBDC assistance is designed to support the startup and long-term success of small businesses, thereby contributing to the growth of our local, state and national economies. The SBDC works locally in conjunction with economic development offices, colleges and universities, financial institutions, business associations, chambers of commerce, and small business owners. SBDC is dedicated to assisting with the creation, development, and maintenance of profitable small businesses. We accomplish this by providing free one-on-one consulting, technical assistance, and a variety of training and workshop sessions designed to help the aspiring and existing small business owner. |
| Service | Through practical business experience and continual professional development, our certified professional consultants focus on entrepreneurial success. The SBDC is the confidential counseling arm of the Small Business Administration (SBA).
