PurposeTo provide emergency services for disabled American veterans including assistance with paperwork for needed services.
ServiceMeetings are 7:30 pm, the third Tuesday of each month at the VFW Post 467, 519 Poole Road, Westminster. On the Chapter level, we have Chapter Service Officers that assist in filling out VA claim forms and fellowship at our monthly meetings. On the state level, DAV has Department service officers that offer counseling on veterans compensation, health care, pension, employment rights, and more. Also extends disaster relief to disabled veterans affected by natural calamities. Nationwide, the organization has National Service Officers that work toward legislation benefiting disabled veterans, their widows, spouses and orphans. This chapter also supports programs at Veterans Administration Medical Centers in Baltimore; Perry Point, and Martinsburg, West Virginia with a CBOC (Community Based Outpatient Clinic) at Fort Detrick in Frederick, MD. EligibilityFor veterans who served and have a service-connected disability, their immediate families, and Gold Star mothers.
Ages ServedVolunteer van drivers are needed to transport veterans to and from hospitals.
