Purpose | To provide competitive swimming within the YMCA philosophy of developing youth in mind, body, and spirit. |
Service | Provides professional swimming instruction for competitive swimmers between the ages of 7 and 18, covering all levels of ability from Novice (post-swim lessons) to National Training Group (competing in national competitions). This program strives to provide an environment where kids have fun while seriously training. They are taught to develop a balanced approach to competition, which means focusing on training while maintaining good grades, nutrition, and time with family and friends. Carroll County has no high school swimming, so college swimming is presented as a worthwhile goal. Regardless of the swimmer's ultimate goals, swimming is encouraged as a lifetime sport. Swim teams are divided into training groups, each having its own schedule within team workout times. |
Fees | Fees vary and YMCA of Central Maryland membership is required. |
