PurposeTo partner with Carroll County residents to promote, protect, and maintain their health. Emphasis is placed on prevention; primary (health promoting activities) and secondary (early diagnosis and prompt treatment of illness).
ServiceADULT EVALUATION AND REVIEW SERVICES (AERS): 410-876-4949 or 410-876-4997 Evaluations and resources for adults, children and disabled persons applying to Medicaid Programs for personal assistance or who may be at risk for Nursing Home placement. BREAST AND CERVICAL CANCER SCREENING PROGRAM (BCCP): 410-876-4423 Income eligible Mammograms, GYN exams, diagnostic, and treatment services. COLORECTAL CANCER SCREENING: 410-876-4966 & 410-876-4961 Colorectal cancer screening with no-cost colonoscopy, patient navigation and cancer screening for income eligible residents. COMMUNICABLE DISEASE: 410-876-4771 Adult immunizations (including Flu); surveillance and outbreak investigation; Rabies prevention and control; refugee health; and Tuberculosis (TB) prevention and control COMMUNITY FIRST CHOICE (CFC): 410-876-4949 or 410-876-4997 Nursing assessment and monitoring services for those utilizing Medicaid and needing personal assistance services; children, adults or adult waiver recipients who have chronic health problems or disabilities. INFANT AND TODDLERS PROGRAM: 410-876-4437 Nursing services for children with developmental delays ages birth to 3 years MARYLAND CANCER FUND: 410-876-4949 The Maryland Cancer Fund offers Cancer Treatment Grants for low-income Marylanders through the local health departments. MATERNAL CHILD HEALTH (MCH): 410-876-4942. Immunization appointments: 410-876-4942 Vaccines For Children Program Immunizations, childhood lead case management, School Health Council, home birth verifications, and school based hearing and vision screening. HIV/AIDS: Education, prevention, and testing 410-876-4770 or 410-876-4426 Case management and support services 410-876-4770, 410-876-4426, or 410-876-4427 LIONS CLUB VISION PROGRAM: 410-876-4948 Assists low-income, county residents with applying for an eye exam and/or eye glasses through the Lions Club Vision Program. MORBIDITY, MORTALITY, AND QUALITY REVIEW: 410-876-4998 Child Fatality, and Fetal/Infant Mortality Review teams ORAL HEALTH PROGRAM: 410-876-4918 Children's Dental Clinic, no-cost dental services for children and pregnant women on Medical Assistance (MA)/Maryland Healthy Smiles, Community Oral Health Education, Dental Access Program REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH:410-876-4930 Family Planning to include birth control options, Emergency Contraception and pregnancy testing, Cancer screening including Pap smears, annual examinations and breast examinations. STI/STD testing and treatment. WIC: 410-876-4898 The WIC program (Women, Infants, and Children) provides low-income pregnant and breast-feeding women and children up to age 5 with healthy food, nutrition education, and breastfeeding support.
