Purpose | To provide court-ordered supervision of delinquent youth, and provide assistance for youth exhibiting at-risk behaviors. |
Service | Also provides referral services to juveniles and their families placed on probation or under Pre Court Supervision. Other programs include; anger management classes, conflict resolution referrals, case management for delinquent youth, shoplifting abatement programming, smoking cessation sessions, substance abuse support, and victim awareness programs. The Maryland Department of Juvenile Services is able to participate in talks with the community, business, school, church, and civic groups on important issues facing juveniles and our society. Topics include: Drug Abuse, Education and Prevention Programs, Profiles of At-Risk Youth, Alternatives to Incarceration, and Young Women and the Criminal Justice System. |
Eligibility | Participants must be Carroll County residents. |
Fees | Most services are free, although some referral services have their own fees. |
Ages Served | Serves youth ages 8 to 21. |
Area Served | Serves Carroll County. |
