Purpose | The mission of the Carroll Community College Library and Media Center is to empower its users by creating an environment conducive to the advancement of information literacy. The library carries out its mission by striving to be a state-of-the-art, user-oriented facility which supports the college's curriculum and promotes independent learning. It provides programs and services planned in consultation with the college community to be responsive to the individualized needs of the college's diverse population. |
Service | Services to students and faculty include reference and information services, library instruction, Internet access, individual research paper assistance, group study rooms, individual study carrels, and computer workstations. Audiovisual equipment and materials supporting instruction are circulated for classroom use. The Library and Media Center coordinates educational programming over Comcast Cable Television (Channel 18). Instructional films are available for in-house viewing. The library is a member of the Carroll Library Partnership and provides reciprocal borrowing privileges to member library patrons. The college Library partners with Carroll County Public Library, McDaniel College's Hoover Library, and other community libraries in Maryland in order to expand its resources and services to the students and faculty of the college and the citizens of Carroll County.
