| Purpose | To offer practical help to women and men with an unplanned pregnancy by helping meet their physical, emotional, spiritual, and financial needs. |
| Service | Offers professional pregnancy counseling by licensed social workers which includes decision-making, and help with medical, legal, and financial arrangements for both parent and child. These help both parents make a plan for the baby, whether parenting or adoption. Provides comprehensive adoption services, including open adoptions (birth parents choose and meet the adoptive parents, and maintain contact through letters, pictures, and visits). Pre- and post-adoption counseling is offered. Foster/interim care in licensed foster homes for infants after delivery (15 days of free care is offered to birth parents for extended decision-making time). Bethany Christian Services is a nationwide organization whose toll free hotline is 800-BETHANY (238-4269). The Maryland group will travel to meet with persons in need of help in their area. Evening hours are available. |
