Purpose | To offer children and adults with disabilities recreational opportunities that they have little access too, while offering their caregivers a respite from the rigors of continuous care. |
Service | Easterseals Camp Fairlee serves children ( 6 - 21) and adults (21+) with ALL TYPES of disabilities. Services include traditional residential summer camp June - August ( 6 and 12 day sessions) , overnight respite weekends October through May ( 2 and 3 day sessions) , and travel trips for adults over age 18. All activities and facilities are fully accessible. Typical summer camp activities include wall climb, high and low ropes, zip line, pool, canoeing, kayaking, horseback riding, fishing, arts and crafts and indoor games in the 12,000 square foot activity center. All activities are accessible. Camp Fairlee was totally rebuilt in 2015 and all facilities are have heat and air conditioning, and are fully accessible. Nurses on staff 24/7 in the health center. |
Eligibility | Participants should be able to generally follow directions and must not be abusive or overly disruptive. |
