Purpose | To provide a summer stock theatre company performing 7 to 8 established New York/London shows each season, from March through December. |
Service | Currently offers internships for young people interested in a theatre career; these allow participants to gain hands-on, intensive experience at a busy regional professional theater. Additional opportunities for students to perform and work in a regional production are available through the playhouse's Allenberry Professional Theatre Conservatory. For regular season productions, some local casting is done but most performers are professional New York actors. Chicago: August 15-September 16 -- the six time Tony award winner set in Chicago in the late 1920's. Smokey Joe's Cafe: September 19-October 14 -- the longest running Broadway Revue in history! Alfred Hitchcock's The 39 Steps": October 17-November 10 -- Broadway's most intriguing, most thrilling, most riotous comedy smash.
