Purpose | To assist people with disabilities, including epilepsy, achieve their personal goals and to promote an atmosphere in the community that makes this possible. |
Service | Provides information and referral regarding epilepsy and associated issues. Offers advocacy, systems assistance, employment services, support services, individual and family counseling, and support groups. Provides community-based one-on-one support, supported employment, and services to transition youth to adult programs to persons with epilepsy and other disabilities that meet criteria stated by the Developmental Disabilities Administration. Offers in-service training for professionals, paraprofessionals, and civic organizations. School alert presentations offered to teachers of all grade levels. Kids on the Block Program available to elementary schools. Offers family and children's services including parent support groups and peer networks. Offers the Ira Rosensweig Scholarship to help further the education of college students who have epilepsy. Also offers Project Act Services (All Children Together) which facilitates inclusive child care for children with disabilities. |
