Purpose MVLS is a private, non-profit legal services provider established in 1981 to help meet the need for civil legal services in Maryland.. Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service removes barriers to justice through free civil legal help, community engagement, and advocacy for equitable laws.
ServiceOur pro bono program serves Marylanders by matching one client with one volunteer attorney. Our panel of more than 1,700 volunteers help clients with family law, housing, consumer, criminal record relief, estate planning and adminstration, income tax controversies and a broad range of other civil legal problems.
