Purpose | To help low-income Carroll County families grow up healthy and stay healthy by providing nutritious food to pregnant, breast-feeding, or postpartum women, and their infants and children up to age five. |
Service | Applicants are screened for medical and/or nutritional needs, they are weighed, measured, and screened for iron deficiency. Must also meet income and residency requirements. Eligible applicants receive nutrition counseling, breastfeeding support, referrals to medical and social services as necessary, and an electronic benefits card to purchase specific foods. |
Fees | No fees are charged. |
Area Served | Services are provided for Carroll County residents, by appointment only. |
