|Meets at 7:30 pm on the second Wednesday of each month at Bear Branch Nature Center, 300 John Owings Road, Westminster. Meetings are free, open to the public, and feature guest lecturers from the community of professional astronomers. To encourage celestial viewing among members, monthly "star parties" are offered at which participants use telescopes to view the moon, planets, asteroids and comets, galaxies, star clusters, and nebulosity’s. You do not need to own a telescope to join. For all things WASI, please go to our website www.westminsterastro.org. Monthly telescopic observation sessions, open to the public, are offered at the Bear Branch Nature Center and other local parks. Daytime and evening activities are provided at a variety of public events such as fairs. The Society provides telescopes and members operating them. Events are listed at this web site, http://nightsky.jpl.nasa.gov/club-view.cfm?Club_ID=152 (WASI Public Events).
