| Purpose | Designated as a Main Street Maryland Community, Mount Airy, Maryland is a small town with a lot to offer. |
| Service | The Maryland General Assembly changed the dates of the Presidential and Gubernatorial Primary elections and as a result both the Frederick and Carroll County Board of Elections recommended the town of Mount Airy change their elections to fall on odd numbered years beginning in 2015. The Town Council had determined that it was in the best interest of the Town and its citizens to hold the 2012 and 2014 elections as scheduled on the first Monday in May then to effect changes in the Town Charter to thereafter begin to hold Town elections in odd numbered years beginning in 2015. Elections will continue to be held on the first Monday in May. Three town council members are elected at the same time and two years later the mayor and the remaining two town council members are elected. The Mount Airy Town Council meets at 7:30 pm the first Monday of each month at the town office. |
