Purpose | The mission of NARFE is to safeguard and enhance federal health benefits, retirement benefits, and pay issues for active federal employees and retirees (annuitants). |
Service | NARFE is a nonprofit and nonpartisan organization functioning since 1921 as an advocate for the protection of federal employee salaries, pensions and benefits. It sponsors and supports legislation and administrative regulations beneficial to present and future federal retirees; and vigorously opposes laws which would be detrimental to its members. NARFE members are also committed to and actively involved in volunteer community service. Special fundraising activities by this group are conducted on behalf of the Alzheimer Association. NARFE is headquartered at 606 N. Washington Street, Alexandria, Virginia 22314-1914. Phone is 800-456-8410 or 703-838-7760. The Carroll County Chapter (#2306) meets the second Thursday of each month (except for July and August) for a luncheon meeting at Bullock’s Country Family Restaurant. The Carroll County chapter currently has about 300 members and NARFE has approximately 300,000 members nationally. Members receive a monthly magazine, chapter newsletter, and various discount perks (hotels, health lifeline screenings, insurance, etc.) |
