Purpose | To promote conservation, and environmental awareness through education, monthly programs, field trips, special events and political lobbying. |
Service | Provides educational programs about habitat, birds, and the environment at local libraries and senior centers. Offers monthly nature trail walks. Also sponsors birdseed sales in the fall and winter, and a native plant sale in the spring as fundraisers. Maintains two large wildlife sanctuaries in eastern Frederick County where members can bird, help protect habitat, and serve the chapter in many ways. Volunteer opportunities are available. Details about specific events can be found on the Internet site. |
Fees | Introductory membership dues: $20. |
Area Served | Serves Carroll, Howard, and parts of Montgomery, Frederick, and Baltimore counties. |
