Purpose | To meet the recreational and leisure needs of the physically, mentally, and emotionally disabled populations of Carroll County. |
Service | PROGRAMS FOR ADULTS: bowling, basketball, water therapy, Special Olympic track and field training, art programs, and Wild Ones for ages 26 and older. PROGRAMS FOR SENIORS: water therapy, recreational games, art and music therapy. PROGRAMS FOR CHILDREN/YOUTH: bowling, swimming, summer day camp, art instruction, soccer, basketball, and Turtles preschool swim program. Seeks volunteers who are interested in working with children and adults with disabilities. Council membership consists of consumers, advocates, parents, and other provider-agency representatives. The council meets at 3 pm the third Tuesday of every other month (August, October, December, February, April, and June). |
Eligibility | Serves persons 2 years old and older with disabilities. |
Fees | Fees vary and scholarships are available. |
