Purpose | To provide a civic and social organization dedicated to helping the less fortunate in the community and world. |
Service | Meetings are at 7:00 PM on the second and fourth Monday of each month. The Winfield Volunteer Fire Department Hall at 1320 W Old Liberty Rd in Sykesville is the site of meetings. The club's community involvement includes: awarding scholastic grants to graduating South Carroll High School seniors, maintaining ball fields in Winfield for little league players and park rental opportunities to others in the community; loaning hospital beds and other medical equipment free of charge to those in the community; manning a Food Booth for and contributing funds to the Winfield Volunteer Fire Department; collecting eyeglasses and hearing aids for recycling; providing eye exams and glasses to those who cannot afford them; distributing holiday food baskets and gifts to needy families in the area; and raising money for the American Diabetes Association and supporting vision research. |
