- Purpose
- To oversee the administration of a decedent’s estate and provide assistance to people administering estates.
- Service
- Probate of decedent's estates; records all papers filed in decedent's estate, maintains all records filed in connection with the administration of estates, and collects taxes and monies due in these estates; serves as clerk to the Orphan's Court for Carroll County, and provides service to the public as established in the probate laws. The Register of Wills is elected by the people for a four-year term.
