| To set policy for the Board of Education, hire the Superintendent of Schools, and acquire appropriate funding for the Carroll County school system. |
| School board members are Barbara Shreeve, President (term expires 2010); Patricia W. Gadberry, Vice-President (term expires 2010); Gary W. Bauer (term expires 2010); Cynthia L. Foley (term expires 2012); Jennifer Seidel (term expires 2012). Members are elected for four-year terms; an appointed student representative serves for one year. Lauren M. Hickey of Westminster High School is the student representative (6/08-5/09). Carroll County commissioner Michael D. Zimmer serves as an ex-officio member. Meetings are 5 pm on the second Wednesday of each month, and 1 pm on the fourth Wednesday of each month. Officers of the school board are elected each December. The TTY/TDD number is 410-751-3034.
