| Terry Whye enjoys a career in ceramic sculpture and pottery in her Finksburg studio, Whye Clay Works, producing work in a variety of techniques including high-fired stoneware and porcelain, colorful majolica pottery, raku and wood fired sculpture and pottery. She welcomes commissions and her ceramics have been highlighted in Ceramic Art and Perception, American Crafts, Ceramics Monthly and Carroll Magazine. WCW is also a teaching studio with year-round classes for youth and adults and is an ideal setting for home schooled youth. As a certified Teaching Artist and arts educator for over 30 years, Terry is on the roster of Artists in Residence eligible for Artist In Education Grants from the Maryland Arts Council and the Artist and Scholars Rosters for community Art Programs, Montgomery County. Ms. Whye provides dynamic workshops and residences for public and private schools. She is on the faculty of the Rehoboth Art League, Delaware where she presents summer workshops for youth, is a member of the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts and the Carroll Arts Center. Ms. Whye has received the Louise Chambers Corkran Award for Sculpture and Awards of Excellence from the Carroll Arts Gallery and Rehoboth Art League. Local references are gladly provided. Visits for purchases, commissions, and to register for classes or workshops are by appointment. A free brochure for her Finksburg classes in pottery and sculpture is available upon request. |
